Matakana Farmers’ Market

  “A collaboration of organics and sustainability”

 

This purpose – built artisans' food market at Matakana Village has featured in numerous articles from The New York Times to Cuisine Magazine and in October 2009 won the Rodney District Council Maangakitanga Award for Outstanding Local Supplier.

 

You will find fresh home grown seasonal vegetables and fruit, homemade gourmet food products including cheese, sausages, preserves, olive oil, chocolate and pastries. Food to eat or take home. Local wine and beer makers. (Wonderful sampling!) Live music, lots of atmosphere and always a buzz!

Matakana Country Park Market

 “A great place to bring the kids!”

 

An eclectic range of New Zealand crafts, fresh vegetables and fruit and prepared foods. Plants, clothing and some health related services.  Volunteers tip; ‘try breakfast at the cafe’.  And for the kids there are animals to feed, pony rides, a miniature train ride and large playground.

 

Saturday 8 a.m. -1 p.m.

At the Country Parks’  big red barns on Leigh Rd,  2km north of Matakana, just past the turnoff to Omaha & Tawharanui.

At this historic village you will find a variety of stalls; local seasonal produce at the community stall,  homemade food products including meat goods, bread, sweets & ice creams, crafts and  plants.  Play area for the children. Live music adds to the relaxed atmosphere.

 

Last Sunday of every month, 8:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m.
